PRAWN CUPPRY RECIPE

I love cooking seafood and within that, I have to say that... Prawns curry recipe are my absolute favourite to cook. Because they're very quick and easy to make prawn curry recipe. And going with that theme of quick and easy prawn curry recipe,

I'm going to show you how to make a very quick and easy... ...Prawn Curry recipe, today. Every time I see prawns curry recipe, I just want to marinate them, Which is exactly what I'm going to do right now. Make a Prawn curry recipe.

So the first thing that I'm going to add to about 300 grams of Prawns for the prawn curry recipe, That has been completely deveined, is the juice of 1 Lemon. A 1/4 of a tsp of salt and a good 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.

Diving in with my hands, to mix this up really well. And prawns really don't need much time to marinade, Just about 15-20 minutes is good enough. Just make sure that you mix the prawns really well, With this very simple marinade.

I'm just going to set these aside for about 15 to 20 minutes. The next thing, I'm going to do is make a really nice Onion and Spice paste for the prawn curry recipe. For this, I've already toasted up some spices here in my Kadhai, Or what you call a wok, right.

So I've got 1 tsp of whole Coriander seeds. 1 tsp of Cumin seeds. And 1/2 a tsp of Black Peppercorns. That I've just toasted up and they've cooled down a bit in this pan.

So now I'm going to transfer them into the jar of my blender. Very important you have to let them cool down Before you add them to the mixer. The best thing for this mixture is that you don't have to finely chop... ...any of the ingredients that go in.

Because it's all going to get blended in the blender. So, I'm just going to roughly chop some 5 cloves of garlic, which is nice and plump. So just a rough chop, because the blender will do the rest of the work.

So just very roughly, chop them up. And I don't have an ordinary chopping board here. I've got a 2-inch piece of ginger, Which I'm also going to cut up slightly. Because ginger is fibrous and will take a little bit longer to blend.

I just want to make it quick and easy. So I'll just roughly chop this up as well. And into my blender. Now the onion, this is 1 onion that I'm just going to cut up in 4. Just dump that in. My favourite thing to add to any sort of a paste for curries is some Green Chillies, I just love it. And I'm using 2 here, which again I'm just going to roughly chop up.

Now I'm very used to doing this, But make sure that you don't do this with bare hands Because chances are that you will rub your eyes. I've kind of trained myself not to. Now, I'm just going to add a little bit of water to this, It'll just make it easier to blend.

And quicker, remember this is a quick curry. Just a little bit not too much and blend. That's a beautiful fragrant paste and I'm going to move on to the next step.

PRAWN CURRY RECIPE

Which is to heat up some oil in my pan here. This is regular flavourless Oil. I'm going to need about 3 to 4 tablespoons, Yes, this curry needs a little bit of oil. Because we're going to fry up the paste.

So I will need about that much oil. And you need that oil to heat up because the paste has to fry up in this oil. Now it's time to add this paste to the oil. But step back when you do this, it splatters.

Now cook this onion and spice paste in the oil for a few minutes. You'll see that it'll start to change colour and also reduce a bit. Continue to cook it for a couple of minutes, And in the meantime, I'm just going to puree up 2 Tomatoes.

Okay, now I'm just going to puree up 2 tomatoes. Again just roughly cut them. Because remember, this is quick and easy. Blender is doing all the work, I'm just helping the blender.

And all into the blender. Quick blitz. I've given a lot of TLC to this onion spice mixture.....here cooked it on a low flame for 3 or 4 minutes. And what do you know! The tomato puree is also ready. Beautifully blended. I'm going to add it to this mixture.

Mix it in well. And I'm going to add some powdered spices. The first spice to go in is some Red Chilli Powder. I'm going to add about 2 tsp. 1/2 a tsp of Turmeric powder. And 1/2 a tsp of Garam masala. And this stage, I'm also going to add some Salt. About a 1/4 of a tsp. Mix that really well. Now you'll see that this beautiful mixture has cooked down.

Smelling absolutely divine, making me very hungry. But I have to add water. First I'm going to add 1 cup of water. Gently slide it in. Give it a mix, stir that. And now to this, I'm going to add the Prawns, that we had marinated earlier.

Just stir that into this beautiful curry. Take the heat up to high and let it come to a slight simmer. Now that it's simmering, I'm going to turn the heat down to low. Cover this and let it cook through till the prawns are done.

That's a visual marker, they curl up and turn pink, That's when you know they're done. My curry is bubbling away. And it is so done, I want to show you a close-up of the prawns. You can see that they are completely cooked through.

That's beautiful, I'm going to turn off the heat. And add the juice of 1 more Lemon. And also then season it a little bit more, Add some more salt. But first, the lemon juice. And some salt. Stir that in.

This curry is so nice and thick and beautifully spiced. I'm ready to plate it up. And then once we plated it up, you can garnish it with some fresh coriander leaves.
